Where do I start? How do I share what an incredible experience I had on my trip to the Relevant Conference last week?
I’m honestly more than a little overwhelmed by it all. It will take me awhile to process everything, so I’ll just start at the beginning. 🙂
Somegirl, my sweet friend and neighbor, travelled with me. We left early to enjoy a little sightseeing.
We arrived in Pennsylvania in the late afternoon, and made our way to our hotel in Harrisburg/Hershey.
We decided to eat dinner at one of the local restaurants in Hershey. It’s a girls trip… Gotta eat at somewhere called the Chocolate Avenue Grill, right?
When we got to downtown Hershey, there was terrible traffic, roads closed, people everywhere. Obviously something big was going on. We tried to find our way through the crowded streets to the restaurant. Then we realized that a parade was about to start. We were sad that we would most likely miss it. We’d never find a place to park! We continued to try and find a way to the restaurant. Eventually, we turned a corner, and instead of finding a road to take us there, we found a parking lot. A mostly empty parking lot. Right next to the parade route!
We parked, and went to watch the parade start.
The 64th annual Hershey Halloween parade! How cool is that?
There were some really cool floats, including Darth Vadar driving a black corvette (that pic sadly didn’t turn out). Our boys would have LOVED IT!
Then there was this one, my favorite:
It turns out that the restaurant was right on the parade route! We went in and sat on the outdoor patio and watched the rest of the parade go by. God is so good. I can’t help but feel that He helped line all those little things up for us to make it all work out like that. Just to give us a perfect start to an unbelievably good trip. Thank you, God, thank you! That was such an unexpected blessing!
Stop by again soon and find out why we decided to road trip to New Jersey the very next day!
