Roadtrip to New Jersey { #Relevant11}

It’s Wednesday of our Relevant 11 trip. We drive to new Jersey, to see a dear friend who moved there (from Texas) this summer.

That wasn’t in the plans, the road trip to New Jersey. Detail after detail, on our end and hers, just kept not lining up. In the end, it was not see her, or road trip to her house for the day. We chose roadtripping, and I’m so thankful we did.

It was an easy, beautiful fall drive. We got a little Valley Forge, PA history lesson along the way.  That was fun!  😉  I also found out that New Jersey is so very different than the image I have in my head from movies, tv and books. It’s beautiful. Picturesque. Friendly and welcoming.

We arrived just in time to see the school bus dropping off kids…

And we saw this sweet, familiar kindergarten face:

Such a cutie! I sure do miss having him over to play with my boys!  Kristen cooked us a delicious dinner and drove us around town to show us the amazing new place she calls home. It’s the neatest little town I think I’ve ever seen.  So much character and charm everywhere you look.  It makes me happy to know that our friends are living in such a wonderful area!  I can’t wait to come back for a longer visit.

The best part of the trip?  THIS:

Again, I am so thankful that all those plans fell through.  Thankful that all those details didn’t line up.  It all worked out to be another example of, “You go nowhere by accident….”   🙂  If the plans and details had worked out, I’d have missed that wonderful opportunity to see my friend’s new home.

I still miss you terribly, K, but I’m so happy for you now that I know firsthand what an amazing place you are in.  Thanks again for showing us around and the yummy dinner! And MD?  I don’t think I told you what an angel and good friend you are for roadtripping to NJ with me.  Thank you. Love you both, girls!  *hugs*  ~M
