Great thoughts! One thing I’ve been thinking lately as a way to give our children simple joy is just to say “yes” more often. Sometimes when our children ask for things outside the norm, or that are inconvenient, we just answer “no” without even thinking. Last night, we had pancakes for dinner at my son’s request (now, obviously this wouldn’t be a healthy dinner every night, but it was a nice splurge, and really made his night that I listened to his suggestion and said “yes” to his request). Love this encouragement Michelle! I need to be more intentional about this. A few weeks ago I pulled my older girls (twin 12 yr olds & 13 year old) out of school and we went to a movie, went shopping and got our nails done. It was SO much fun and they loved it! It made for a great memory and I hope to do things like this more often to teach them to make time for fun and memory making.
