The essentials for the perfect teatime

This post is inspired by Stacy, who wrote a truly unique & wonderful how-to post, and Michelle, who started us on the path of having a regular teatime.  Thanks ladies!

Choose a lovely cup and saucer that makes you smile...

Gather some cheery flowers and local honey - I love that the ingredients are: Flowers, Sunshine & Rain!

Light a candle if you'd like...

Invite a friend to join you for a few quiet moments...

Fill your teacup...

Choose a tea to suit your mood...

~~BE PATIENT~~ That's the thing about tea... It teaches you patience as it slowly changes from plain ole water into a lovely cup of tea. {Don't let that little lesson get lost by filling that time 'multi-tasking'! } ~~BREATHE~~

Drizzle in some local honey...

Marvel at all the work of those local bees....!!

Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of a flower... and just savor your quiet moment of rest.

A couple of other things that help make my teatime absolute perfection?  If I have limited time,  I like to set the timer on my phone, so that I can totally relax and not worry about being late to pick up my little guy from school. That way I can completely relax without having to check the time every 5 minutes.  It makes a big difference!   A quick spritz on the wrists of a nice relaxing scent like lavender is also wonderful to help relax and just be still.

So here’s my thought provoking question this week …… Do you take the time to be INTENTIONALLY still each week?  Remember, even Jesus said to the disciples, “Come off by yourselves; let’s take a break and get a little rest.” ~Mark 6:31 The Message.   I’d love to say that I do this daily, but right now at least I’ve got it down to a solid, dependable part of my afternoon each Thursday.  And I look forward to it all week!

What do you do to intentionally rest, and let your heart and mind and soul breathe for a minute?

Me too! Now if we could just get out the door without letting the timer ring for 5 minutes…. Hehe! :)

Beautiful Pictures! They make me let out a relaxed sigh just looking at them. Regardless of the fact that my two older boys are running in circles very noisily. Glad to “meet” you!

Weather permitting, go for a walk in the woods (in the spring known as “mushroom hunting so don’t know how long I’ll be gone” ha ha). If weather is uncooperative, a few minutes alone reading. Definitely not everyday, hopefully 1 or 2 times a week. Love your pictures, can’t wait for flowers here.

I feel relaxed just reading this! Love the pictures. So peaceful.

I have not made as much time to just sit recently (and it is showing). It’s so important. Definitely a good thing to plan for and schedule in.
