Christmas kind of snuck up on me this year. Which is ironic, because I’ve been planning and reminding myself for the last 6 months to get everything done before December so I could just relax and enjoy the holiday. But life happens, and I’ve never had THIS MUCH “left” to do less than a week before Christmas.
Funny how that works.
But, you know what? I’m thankful.
Acutally, I’m pretty sure if I listen closely enough I can hear God laughing at my silly plans all along. Starting earlier to fit it all in isn’t what He had in mind…
The season is about Jesus after all, not decorations. Not pinterest inspired gifts. Not….. well you get the idea….Just Jesus.
And if I listen closely enough I can hear him too.
He’s been whispering to my heart: “Ready or not, here I come!”
He’s been forcing me to reconsider what I’m doing during the Christmas season. Is it to glorify Him? Or to impress others and glorify myself?
He whispers again in my heart: “Ready or not, here I come…”
I simplify. Let some things go. Breathe. Then the cycle begins again and I feel stressed and overwhelmed and not measuring up… again.
But again, Jesus is there, always there, whispering again in my heart: “Ready or not, here I come…”
“Ready or not, here I come…”
“Ready or not, here I come…”
Something to think about…

Thanks for hosting the Link – up! God bless ~
Come quickly, Lord Jesus! As people say, life is what happens while you’re making plans! Thanks for the great post & for hosting, & have a blessed Christmas!
I am eagerly waiting for the return of our Lord!
Christmas always seems to sneak up on me, so I’ve tried to minimize what’s unnecessary. It really helps me enjoy Christmas so much more … and helps me remember what Christmas is really all about. Have a blessed holiday, Michelle!
This is my most “left undone” week before Christmas ever. And I’m thankful, too. I’m just going to have to skip a lot of it. Which should clarify what’s really important to pour my energy into — if I let it!
Thanks for this! And for hosting this good link!
Christmas has become very sacred for me for the past 12 years. My disease has always taught me to slow down, to sow day by day, and enjoy the seen and invisible harvest of God’s loving presence. In spanish the word “mas” means more and, if we turn it around it translates ~”more Christ.” It’s simple logic for me, Christmas is More of Christ and, this is how I seek to live each day. Wonderful blog! Blessings of peace~Sincerely Deborah
