ASK and it will be given to you;
SEEK and you will find;
KNOCK and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives;
the one who seeks finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
- Jesus, (Matthew 7:7-8)
A wise pastor once taught me that when we read these verses, these words were written as commands.
Jesus is telling us to ASK.
To SEEK.
And to KNOCK.
So…
Are you?
Something to think about…

Oh, I’m striving, but need the reminder often. Thank you!
I like your post today…short, sweet, profound. Great question. I will ponder it today. Bless you for having this link-up.
Oh, I like that, never quite thought of it that way. Thanks for the prompt to think differently.
The Luke 11:9 version of this verse was the first ever verse I memorized in Sunday School! It is one that is near and dear to my heart– and while I don’t do it perfectly all the time (I see shiny things and get distracted) I do try to ask, seek and knock as much as I can. Thanks for bringing me back to this!
Love that verse. Thanks for putting it on my radar today!
That is something worth thinking about! Thanks for doing this link-up.
I kinda wrote about this today. We prayed, asking God for #4, then were surprised when he blessed us right away. Why? Wrong view of God. Ask, seek, knock, he’s there waiting to answer!
Excellent point — we are so blessed to have our God available to us 24/7, and to know He will give us wisdom if only we ask, yet we have not if we ask not!
God bless,
Laurie
